Zakia Nichole Davis' Obituary
Zakia Nichole Davis age 32 of Elkville, IL, formerly of DuQuoin, IL, passed away on Friday, March 6, 2009 at her home as the result of a fire. Zakia was born on July 18, 1976 in Tacoma, WA, a daughter to David White and Brenda Whitfield. On July 20, 2007, she married Coy Davis in Duquoin, IL and he survives. Zakia was a member of the First United Pentecostal Church and worked as a C.N.A. for Helia of Carbondale, IL. She was a loving mother and great friend. She is survived by her husband: Coy Davis of Elkville, IL, father: David White of Tacoma, WA, mother: Brenda Whitfield of Elkville, IL, paternal grandparents: Billie (Ivory) Crittendon of Tacoma, WA, maternal grandfather: Louis Whitfield of DuQuoin, IL, one daughter: Shayla Johnson of Elkville, IL, one step-daughter: Tajah Ehler of DuQuoin, IL, one brother: Jason Whitfield of Elkville, IL, one sister: Ladewayna White of Tachoma, WA, mother-in-law: Cindy Alvis of Elkville, IL and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by one daughter: Ashanti Hilliard and maternal grandmother: Virginia Whitfield. Funeral services will be held at First United Pentecostal Church, DuQuoin, IL on Friday, March 13, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Dan McKinnies and Reverend C.L. McKinnies officiating. Interment will be in I.O.O.F. Cemetery, DuQuoin, IL. Friends may call at First United Pentecostal Church, DuQuoin, IL from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to the family of Zakia Davis and Ashanti Hilliard.
