Alex Smithley
I grew up in Pinckneyville, and my family and I went to church with Mrs. Woehlke. My sister, Rachel Smithley and I were just kids when we met Mrs. Woehlke, but she loved us little ones. She lived on our street with us for a little while, and we would visit her at her house and later on at the Manor at the Mason Woods. My sister Rachel would write her letters every so often, as pen pals, but we fell out of it when we got older, I always wished we hadn't. My dad knows lots of great folks like Wilma from Zion Lutheran, and if we hadn't had to move away, I would surely still be there now, but God called us to a different path. However, Wilma still stayed in our hearts, a kind, loving, and wise older woman. That is a good reputation to have. A person who loved all who came near her. I know she is with the Father in heaven today. Praise the Lord for our friend Mrs. Woehlke. She would have loved to see how much we have grown.
