Wilbur Allen Heggemeier's Obituary
Wilbur Allen Heggemeier, age 70, of Coulterville, IL passed away surrounded by family in his home at 1:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 14, 2015. Wilbur was born on April 8, 1944 in Swanwick, IL at his family home, a son to Elmer C. and Minnie Louise (Bingel-Stough) Heggemeier. He married Virginia Franklin in Belleville, IL on December 14, 1968 and she survives. He was a veteran of the United States Navy during the Vietnam War and worked for General Motors for over thirty-three years. He later worked as an over the road truck driver for fifteen years. Wilbur enjoyed fishing, hunting, and trapshooting, was an avid gardener and loved spending time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Virginia Heggemeier; three daughters, Tracy (Bob) Brees of Creve Coeur, MO, Stephanie Heggemeier of Franklin, IN, and Misty Heggemeier of St. Louis, MO; two brothers, Dale E. (Lois) Heggemeier of Coulterville, IL and Wayne (Kelly) Heggemeier of New Athens, IL; five grandchildren, Nicole Westerman, Jonathon Kahrhoff, Gregory Kahrhoff, Sophia Kahrhoff, and Gannon Kahrhoff; two great-grandchildren, Lauren and Walker Kahrhoff; and his beloved shih tzu, Mo. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Donald D. Heggemeier, Earl R. Heggemeier and Larry D. Heggemeier; step-father, Harry Stough; and great-grandson, Allen Dale Kahrhoff. Funeral services will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, Coulterville, IL on Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. with Ron Mazander officiating. Wilbur's wishes were to be cremated following the funeral service. Friends may call Pyatt Funeral Home, Coulterville, IL on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois.
