Vida Fern Headrick's Obituary
Vida Fern Headrick, age 94, of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away on Saturday, August 22, 2020 at 12:55 a.m. in Pinckneyville Nursing and Rehabilitation.
Vida was born on January 25, 1926 in Olive Branch, IL, a daughter to Edwin and Pearl (Jenkins) Krug. In 1967, she married James W. "Bill" Headrick in Madison County, IL, he preceded her in death on April 7, 2014. Vida had worked for SIU Edwardsville doing office work and later in life worked as a loan officer for Keystone Bank, West Virginia. She was a member of St. John United Church of Christ, Granite City, IL and St. Paul United Church of Christ, Pinckneyville, IL. Vida enjoyed quilting, genealogy and cooking.
Survivors include a stepdaughter, Lesli (Richard) Cohan; a grandchild, James Headrick; two great-grandchildren, James Headrick and Jalyn Headrick; and six nieces and nephews, Tony (Judy) Cline, Gene (Donna) Krug, Betty Krug, Oma Lee, Shirley Hagene, and Anna Eaton.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a son, Jim Sitton; a son and a daughter in infancy; a stepson, James Randall Headrick; a brother, Howard Krug; a sister, Hazel Cline; and three nieces, Bylla Martin, Elizabeth Schmidt and Barbara Kelly.
Graveside service will be held at Galum Presbyterian Cemetery, Pinckneyville, IL on Friday, August 28, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Marty DeRoche officiating. A webcast video will be available on our Facebook page following the service.
Due to health concerns related to the Covid-19 virus and by the signing of executive order by Governor J.B. Pritzker, Phase Four attendance will be limited to 50 people and social distancing will be enforced.
