Dear Kay,
I was saddened to learn of Russ's passing. I remember with fondness our car pooling trips to from Steeleville Elementary. Russ had such a gentle and kind spirit. His faith in God was expressed in his daily walk and talk.
Kay, I also remember the quality nursing care you gave me during my miscarriage (Pinckneyville) and later with the birth (DuQuoin) of my 2nd babe, Katie. I shall ever be grateful for your compassion, concern, and care.

My sympathies to the family. I was friends with Amy years ago and remember one Christmas Day being invited to their home. I recall a wonderful time and feeling welcomed by Mr. Eubanks and other family members.

"Mr. E." -- I am very sad to hear the news of his passing. Mr. E. was the first teacher that made math & algebra fun. (For me, at least.) I was his student for 3 years in junior high at Steeleville 89/90, 90/91, & 91/92. Pre-Algebra & Algebra ½, I think. Out of the Saxon textbooks. Not only was he our math teacher, he was also our class sponsor •SJS Class Of 1992•
And while I don't readily remember his rendition of "Pop Goes the Weasel," I will never forget Elmo the Circus Flea whom he kept in a tiny box in his desk drawer which he pulled out to entertain/educate us on special occasions. Usually within the first two weeks of a new school year & coming back from Christmas break. Oh, Mr. E., you were a great teacher, rest in peace.

I had Mr. Eubanks as my math teacher in jr. high. He was such a kind man with a sense of humor. There are so many things that he said that make me think of him daily. He always made you feel like you can do math and never made you feel frustrated. Heaven gained a good one.
