Robert C. Stutes, age 94, of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away on Monday, July 15, 2024 at 11:14 a.m.
Robert was born on May 8, 1930 in Lewistown, IL, a son to Clifford and Madeline (Hunter) Stutes. Robert worked as a diesel mechanic for Burlington Auto and Truck Plaza in Burlington, CO. He loved to collect junk, sculpt things out of metal, and playing the $3 bingo scratch off tickets. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include two daughters, Christina (Gene) Fisher of Pinckneyville, IL, and Dianne (Wayne) Chamness of Vergennes, IL; one daughter-in-law, Connie Stutes of Pinckneyville, IL; five grandchildren, Brandon Fisher, Robby (Destiny) Fisher, Jason (Sarah) Stutes, Eric Stutes, Maria (Joey) Hazel; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lily; and one son, Mark Stutes.
Robert's wishes were to be cremated with no services. Interment will be in Mueller Hill Cemetery, Pinckneyville, IL
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Cunningham Children's Home, Urbana, IL.
