Phillip Stewart Kuntz's Obituary
Phillip Stewart Kuntz, age 62, of rural DuQuoin, IL, passed away on Tuesday, July 11, 2006 at 3:40 p.m. in Willowcreek Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Belleville, IL as a result of injuries sustained in a train/truck accident earlier this year. Phil was born on August 15, 1943 in Jeffersonville, IN, a son to Walter P. and Margaret Elaine (Forward) Kuntz. He married Frances J. Engelhart in Pinckneyville, IL on October 29, 2005 and she survives. He had retired from the United States Forest Service, was formerly a music teacher and recently worked at Gilster Mary-Lee in Missouri. He attended church at the Trinity Assembly of God, Pinckneyville. He was a member of the King City Beagle Club, was a beagle breeder and loved running his dogs. Survivors include his wife: Fran of rural DuQuoin, his son: Robbie D. Kuntz of St. Louis, MO, father-in-law and mother-in-law: J. Charles and Joy Engelhart, two brothers-in-law: Dirk and Pat Engelhart, and Paul and Carol Engelhart, and five nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be held at Trinity Assembly of God, Pinckneyville on Saturday, July 15, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Paul Ritter officiating. Interment will be at their home place in rural DuQuoin. Friends may call at Pyatt-Harrawood Funeral Home, Pinckneyville on Friday from 5:00 p.m. till 8:00 p.m. and again on Saturday from 8:00 a.m. till 9:30 a.m. then at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. Memorial donations may be made to the Christopher Reeve Paralysis Foundation.
