LaVerne Klosterman's Obituary
LaVerne Klosterman, age 89, of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away on Friday, December 11, 2020 at 3:20 a.m. in her home.
LaVerne was born on March 10, 1931 in Hoyleton, IL, a daughter and fifth child to Gus and Hannah (Brinkman) Michael. On September 5, 1954, she married Reverend Keith C. Klosterman in Hoyleton, IL and he preceded her in death on September 17, 1995. LaVerne was confirmed March 25, 1945 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Hoyleton, IL. She was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Pinckneyville, IL where her husband pastored for 27 years. She was actively involved in her church and was the organist for 35 years at St. Paul United Church of Christ. She was also the pianist for Sunday School and accompanist for the church choir. Her work history as a secretary included Pinckneyville Junior High School and Pinckneyville Medical Group, as well as many other offices. LaVerne was a member, past secretary and pianist for Pinckneyvillle Senior Citizens. She was a devoted mother, wife, and grandmother and dearly loved her family.
Survivors include her three children, Connie Crawford of Pinckneyville, IL, Patricia (Jim) Davies of Addison, IL and Michael (Jane) Klosterman of Mascoutah, IL; five grandchildren, Brian (Ashley) Crawford, Julie Wood, Jennifer (Jason) Buchman, Michelle Stone and Paul Klosterman; two great-grandchildren, Tallulah Wood and Charlotte Stone; and a sister-in-law.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Reverend Keith C. Klosterman; a son-in-law, Joe Crawford; a brother; two sisters; and a sister in infancy.
Private services will be held with Reverend Louis Fluck officiating. Interment will be in Mueller Hill Cemetery, Pinckneyville, IL.
Covid resurgence restrictions will be adhered to, attendance will be limited and social distancing will be enforced. All attendees are asked to wear a mask.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Paul United Church of Christ funeral meals, Arthritis Foundation or American Heart Association.
Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL has been entrusted with arrangements.
