John and I was on the same Ship in Norfolk, Virginia. My wife and I were friends with them both in the late 70's. I was just going through some old pictures and found a couple. Thought I would Google him and found this. I'm so sorry I was a few weeks too late. He was a giant of a man and I'm sure he will be missed.
