John Charles Stumpe's Obituary
John Charles Stumpe, age 67, of Centralia, IL, formerly of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away on Sunday, April 17, 2022 at 11:23 p.m., at Warren G. Murray Developmental Center, Centralia, IL.
John was born on February 1, 1955 in Pinckneyville, IL, a son to John H. "Jack" and Betty G. (Hulsey) Stumpe. He was born with numerous physical and mental disabilities, which eventually dictated that he move to Warren G. Murray Developmental Center, Centralia, IL. During his time at the Murray Center, John had many kind and compassionate caregivers who completed his family circle. We will be forever grateful for their loving care and dedication. Even though John was nonverbal and never shared a conversation, he taught us many life lessons. He was strong, determined, and never gave up. His joy and laughter will be sorely missed.
Survivors include his sister, Jill (William Charles) Louv of Durham, NC; and two nephews, Aaron Louv of Durham, NC and Carter Louv of Charleston, SC.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John "Jack" and Betty Stumpe; his adoring grandmothers, Fay Stumpe and Trixie Hulsey; and an aunt, Ernestine Stumpe Harper.
Graveside services will be held at I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Pinckneyville, IL on Saturday, April 23, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. with Reverend Don Meeks.
