Joan Louise Miller's Obituary
Joan Louise Miller, age 77, of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away on Friday, September 4, 2009 at 9:57 p.m. in Coulterville Care Center, Coulterville, IL. Joan was born on July 3, 1932 in Murphysboro, IL, a daughter to William A. and Irene (Hubler) Bommerscheim. On November 11, 1954, she married Gerald A. Miller in Pinckneyville, IL and he preceded her in death on October 31, 2003. Joan had worked for many years as a secretary at Pinckneyville Community High School, she was a excellent seamstress, she loved boating, camping and playing bridge. She was also a member of St. Bruno Catholic Church and she served on the Pinckneyville library board. Survivors include three daughters: Paula (Charles) Wade of Carbondale, IL, Jane (Jeff Mann) Miller of Vienna, IL and Julie (Gale) Opp of Tamaroa, IL, two sisters: Ruth Bommerscheim of Pinckneyville, IL and Patricia (Harry) Kluempers of Carmel, IN, two grandchildren: Jennifer Opp and Jeremy Opp of Tamaroa, IL, special friend: Pat Sheley of Pinckneyville and many dear nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters: Mildred Ogilvie and Lorraine Patten, and one brother: Richard Bommerscheim. Joan requested to her daughters that cremation was to be held and a memorial service at the funeral home was to follow. Catholic memorial service will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL on Friday, September 11, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. with Father Brian Barker officiating. Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL on Friday, September 11, 2009 from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. The rosary will be recited at 9:00 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to St. Bruno Catholic School or Hospice of Southern Illinois.
