Janet was my cousin and a junior at PCHS when my family moved back to Pinckneyville when I was a freshman. She took me under her wing and included me in her friend circle of juniors until I made friends of my own. She was a kind, joyful, and caring woman of faith even then. I had a wonderful transition to the new community and high school because of her. I will be forever grateful to her for being there for me when I desperately needed a friend.

I wish to extend my deepest condolences and sympathies to the families and friends of Janet Erwin. I started attending Oak Grove Baptist Bible Study on Wednesdays for the past 2-3 years. Janet attended regularly and we would alternate at bringing a treat for everyone. She brought several times, a Heath Bar dessert that was very good. We had conversations about her family and her Faith in God. She would always have something inspiring to say. She fought a good battle, and we know she would have loved to have been at Bible Study on Wednesdays when she could not. She was missed when she could not attend, and she will be missed more than ever now. She's with Jesus and she was ready when she could not fight anymore. May God comfort you during this time and Rest well, Janet!
My fondest memories of Janet are associated with being blessed to join a Bible study group she was already a part of. No matter what was happening in her life she needed to know how others were. Janet was kind and compassionate and a strong woman of God. I loved her and will miss her but also know she is happy and pain free with her Lord. Until we meet again dear friend.
