Howard R. Isaacs' Obituary
Howard R. Isaacs Howard R. Isaacs, age 65, of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away on May 8, 2009 at 7:55 p.m. at his home surrounded by his loving family. Howard was born on January 17, 1944 in DuQuoin, IL, a son to Louis R. and Mabel L. (Scarber) Isaacs. On July 4, 1964, he married Carol Martin in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, DuQuoin, IL and she survives. Howard was a member of St. Bruno Catholic Church, Pinckneyville, IL, a member of the Knights of Columbus, school board member of St. Bruno Catholic School, served on the Parish Council, coached Little League and American Legion baseball and softball and St. Bruno's basketball. He was a coal miner having worked for Peabody, Consol and Arch of Illinois. Howard operated the Pinckneyville Dairy Queen for several years, was a member of the National Shoot and Retrieve and was an avid hunter, dog trainer and golfer. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
Howard is survived by his wife: Carol Isaacs of Pinckneyville, IL, two sons: Mike (Jennifer) Isaacs and their children; Drew, Alec, and Ayden of Freeburg, IL and Brett (Michelle) Isaacs and their children; Jake, Luke, and Olivia of Freeburg, IL, two daughters: Ann (Ed) Myers and their children; Caleb, Brendan, Dylan and Regan McCoy and Ashley and Kristin Myers of Waterloo, IL and Julie (Chad) Malawy and their children; Cole and J.T. of Nashville, IL, two sisters: June (Jim) Terry of DuQuoin, IL and JoAnn Lemmons of DuQuoin, IL, brothers and sisters-in-law: Kate (Steve) Baker of DuQuoin, IL, David (Jenny) Martin of DuQuoin, IL, Allan (Sharon) Martin of DuQuoin, IL, Mary Beth (Joe) Lane of DuQuoin, IL, mother-in-law: Rita Martin of DuQuoin, IL and many dear nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, father-in-law: Chuck Martin, son-in-law: Keith McCoy and brother-in-law: Danny Lemmons Funeral services will be held at St. Bruno Catholic Church, Pinckneyville, IL on Monday, May 11, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. with Father Brian Barker officiating. Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL on Sunday from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Monday from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. Memorials may be made to St. Judes Childrens Research Hospital, St. Bruno School or Mike Matheny's "Catch 22 Baseball Foundation."
