Edith Marie Verderber's Obituary
Edith Marie Verderber, age 93, of Webster Groves, MO, passed away on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at 12:10 a.m., in Laclede Groves Nursing Home, Webster Groves, MO.
Edith was born on October 26, 1932 in Jamestown in Perry County, IL, a daughter to Erhardt John and Anna Katherine (Caupert) Mayer. In June of 1963, she married David Francis Verderber in St. Louis, MO and he survives. Edith was a member of Christ Memorial Lutheran Church in St. Louis. She volunteered at Deaconess Hospital in St. Louis for many years. Edith liked to travel. She was an avid St. Louis Cardinals and St. Louis Blues fan. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her loving husband of 62 years, David Francis Verderber of Webster Groves, MO; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Freda Luker and a sister in infancy; and three brothers, Theodore Mayer, Fred Mayer, and Carl Mayer.
A graveside service will be held at Hopewell Cemetery in Pinckneyville, IL on Monday, November 24, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Jay Holden officiating
