Dr. Michael E. Bernaix's Obituary
Dr. Michael E. Bernaix, age 77, of Pinckneyville, IL, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 13, 2020 at 5:55 a.m. in his home.
Michael was born on March 23, 1943 in Granite City, IL, a son to Harry Eugene and Helen Irene (Campbell) Bernaix. On June 1, 1963, he married Joyce Jones at Beaucoup Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, IL and she survives. Michael's profession as a chiropractor lasted fifty years. He was a member of Landmark Apostolic Church, Sparta, IL where he was a song leader and Sunday School teacher. Michael was a member of The American Chiropractic Association. He loved being a servant at the church and being a help where ever he was needed.
Survivors include his wife of fifty-seven years, Joyce Bernaix of Pinckneyville, IL; three children, Sherri (James) Killion of Marble Hill, MO, Rodney Bernaix (Gregory Hunt) of Tamaroa, IL and Matthew (Tasha) Bernaix of Percy, IL; seven grandchildren, Clayton (Cheyanne) Killion, Lorrie Killion, Harrison Killion, Collier Bernaix, Ella Bernaix, Kadyn Bernaix and Analyn Bernaix; two step-grandchildren, Rielyn Shemoney and Rhett Shemoney; one sister, Janet Robinson of Carterville, IL; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held at Landmark Apostolic Church, Sparta, IL on Monday, August 17, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Doug Rice Officiating. Interment will be at Mueller Hill Cemetery, Pinckneyville, IL.
Visiation will be held at Landmark Apostolic Church, Sparta, IL on Sunday, August 16, 2020 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
Due to health concerns related to the Covid-19 virus and by the executive order signed by Governor J.B. Pritzker, phase four attendance will be limited to 50 people and social distancing will be enforced. We ask that all attendees wear a mask.
Memorial donations may be made to Landmark Apostolic Church building fund.
