Thinking of you all and praying for comfort for the family and Twyla. We have many memories of Don over the years and he will be missed. We grieve with you all and wish we could be there with you at this time. Love, Scott and Belinda
Sending our sympathy to the entire Hicks family during this sad time.
I am so sorry!!
I worked with Donnie at Consol's Burning Star #3 in Sparta and always enjoyed his conversations and work ethic. He received permission to "catch" fish from ponds the mine would drain and after his shifts were over Donnie could be seen skimming the muck on his belly collecting the stranded fish and moving them to other lakes on the property that would not be stripped. I have no doubt that many of the nicer bass/catfish/bluegill were relocated around Pinckneyville in numerous frying pans and quite possibly local waters. He was genuine and he made this world a better place. We are sad to read of his passing.

Prayers and thoughts go out to the Hicks family. Don was a great man and a true friend. I spent several hours with him hunting coon dogs when I was in high school. He taught me a lot about being a dog man and always took great care of me at the gun store. Truly will be missed by all.
RIP Donnie. Handle ole Midnight Misty for me until I get there!
Sorry for your loss, thoughts with the Hicks family
Uncle Donnie you were an amazing uncle and I loved growing up with you by our side, we have wonderful childhood memories because of you! Go rest high on that mountain, you will be missed but forever loved!
