Donald Gene Carson's Obituary
Donald Gene Carson, age 71, of Murphysboro, formerly of Pinckneyville from birth to 1972, passed away on Monday, July 2, 2007 at 4:00 p.m. in his home. Don was born on March 28, 1936 in Pinckneyville, a son to Clifford W. and Mary Eleanor (Helvey) Carson. On April 19, 1954, he married Martha Jane Christie in Alton, IL. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, and the UMWA. He loved riding and training horses, and enjoyed spending time with his family. Survivors include his wife: Martha Jane Carson, one daughter: Donna Brantley and husband Leonard of Murphysboro, three sons: Dan Carson and wife Maida of Ava, Sam Carson and wife LeeAnn of Ava, and Will Travis Carson of St. Louis, MO, four grandchildren: Rebecca Krause and husband Doug, Emma Stewart and husband David, Adam Carson and Ethan Carson, one great-grandchild: Wyatt Krause, one aunt: Bertha Carson, and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be held at Pyatt-Harrawood Funeral Home, Pinckneyville on Friday, July 6, 2007 at 4:00 p.m. with Reverend Ted Clark officiating. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Pinckneyville. Friends may call at Pyatt-Harrawood Funeral Home, Pinckneyville on Thursday from 6:00 p.m. till 9:00 p.m. and on Friday from 8:00 a.m. till 4:00 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to Fellowship of Christian Cowboys.
