Donald Gene Carson, age 71, of Murphysboro, formerly of Pinckneyville from birth to 1972, passed away on Monday, July 2, 2007 at 4:00 p.m. in his home. Don was born on March 28, 1936 in Pinckneyville, a son to Clifford W. and Mary Read Obituary
My heartfelt sympathy to all of the Carson family. Working with Don for almost 13 years at the coal mines, I came to know an honest, hard working and compassionate family man whose ideals were the envy of many. His laughter lit up a room, his smile was contagious and his spirit will live on in the hearts of his Burning Star #5 friends forever. God Bless.

Dan and Sam, So sorry to hear of the passing of your Dad. He was a true cowboy gentleman, and absolutely one of the guys I looked up to, when I started at #5 mine as a young lad. He will be missed. Please accept my deepest sympathies.
