Wilmer F. Graul's Obituary
Wilmer F. Graul, age 87, of Coulterville, IL, passed away on Sunday, July 3, 2011 at 11:48 a.m. in his home. Wilmer was born on September 10, 1923 in Mascoutah, IL, a son to John H. and Alma (Steinkamp) Graul. On July 18, 1948, he married Elsa M. Hood in Mascoutah, IL and she preceded him in death on February 7, 1998. He was baptized on January 13, 1924 and confirmed on April 2, 1939 at St. John Evangelical Church, Mascoutah, IL. Wilmer was a veteran of the United States Army, proudly serving his country during WW II. He worked as a coal miner for both Peabody Coal and Consol Coal retiring after 25 years and was a sewing machine mechanic. Wilmer was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Coulterville, IL, Coulterville V.F.W. Post 6865, and Royal Neighbors. He was a former Sunday school and church choir member, and a former Atom, Bantam, and Khoury League manager and coach. Wilmer's greatest joys in life were raising and caring for his family. Wilmer is survived by two sons, Gale Graul of Coulterville, IL and Kevin (Tracy) Graul of Round Lake, IL: niece, Eva (Howard) Pannier of rural Marissa, IL; one sister, Violet Sadewasser of Iowa; as well as many grandchildren; and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Elsa Marie (Hood) Graul; one daughter, Donna Faye Graul; two sons, Gary L. Graul and Ricky L. Graul; four brothers, Oscar, Clarence, Arnold, and Edward Graul; three sisters, Clara Weidler, Stella Slegelmich, and Dorothy Juenger; one granddaughter, Kamie Faye Graul; and one great-granddaughter, Dustee Kailyn Rude. Funeral services will be held at the First United Methodist Church, Coulterville, IL on Thursday, July 7, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Eunjoo Lee officiating. Interment will be in Bethel Cemetery, Swanwick, IL. Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home, Coulterville, IL on Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday at the church from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church, Coulterville, IL.
