Wilma Lee Kellerman's Obituary
Wilma Lee Kellerman, age 86, of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away on Thursday, August 11, 2016 at 2:14 p.m. in SSM Health Good Samaritan, Mt. Vernon, IL. Wilma was born on February 16, 1930 in Fairfield, IL, a daughter to Harold and Emma Elizabeth (Williams) Laird. On January 21, 1950, she married Russell W. Kellerman in Colorado City, TX and he preceded her in death on April 14, 1994. Wilma had worked as a LPN for 25 years. She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, IL, where she remained active until she was no longer able to attend. She taught Christian Fellowship, children's church and bus ministry at Oak Grove Baptist Church in the 1970's. Wilma was giving of her time as she was a foster parent for 5 years and volunteered in the public schools for 5 years retiring at 80 years old. She was a member of Senior Center Quilting Club. Wilma enjoyed quilting, gardening flowers, cats, needlework, outside activities, traveling and being a caregiver. She loved life and spending time with her family. Survivors include a son, Jim (Laurie) Kellerman of DuQuoin, IL; daughter, Connie (Ronald) Gerrard of Otwell, IN; five grandchildren, Emma, Michelle, Desiree, Courtney and Paige; two great-grandchildren, Jayden and Drake; one brother, Robert Laird of Pinckneyville, IL; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one daughter, Karen King-Lewis; three brothers, Art, Carroll and George; and four sisters, LaVera, Helen, Mary and Corrine. Funeral services will be held at Oak Grove Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, IL on Monday, August 15, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. with Brother Rob Mathis officiating. Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL on Sunday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Monday at Oak Grove Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, IL from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to Pinckneyville Public Library or Oak Grove Baptist Church.
