Wilma Jean (Quinn) Brown's Obituary
Wilma Jean (Quinn) Brown, age 86, of Du Quoin, IL, went to be with the Lord on Monday, July 20, 2020 at 7:25 p.m. at Marshall Browning Hospital in Du Quoin, IL.
Wilma was born on March 6, 1934 in Mineral Point, MO, a daughter to William Levi and Anna Mary (Moyer) Marlowe. On October 6, 2007 she married Charles W. Brown in the Philadelphia Baptist Church and he preceded her in death on March 27, 2015. Wilma was a babysitter who was compassionate and was like a mother to everyone she met. She was of the Baptist Faith. Wilma loved cooking, working on crossword puzzles and word searches, texting and gambling at casinos.
Survivors include her two daughters, Brenda (David) Skaggs and Beverly Creekpaum both of Du Quoin; four grandchildren, April (Shawn) Phillips, Joey Creekpaum, Stevie Creekpaum, and Kyle (Crystal) Creekpaum; one great-grandson, Shane Creekpaum; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and seven brothers and sisters.
Funeral Services will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, Du Quoin, IL on Thursday, July 23, 2020 at 12:00 p.m. Interment will be in Old Du Quoin Cemetery, Du Quoin, IL.
Visitation will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, Du Quoin, IL on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.
Due to health concerns related to the Covid-19 virus and by the signing of executive order by Governor J.B. Pritzker, Phase Four attendance will be limited to 50 people and social distancing will be enforced.
Memorial donations may be made to the family.
