William Thomas "Tom" Pierce's Obituary
William Thomas “Tom” Pierce, age 75, of Chester, IL passed away peacefully on Friday, May 9, 2025 at 9:05 p.m., at home surrounded by his family.
Tom was born on April 16, 1950 in DuQuoin, IL a son to Robert and Betty Jane (Cockrum) Pierce. On October 6, 1997, he married Jackie Coulson at the courthouse in Chester, IL. Tom honorably served his country in the United States Army. He retired as a Captain from Menard Correctional Facility, Chester, IL after 32 years of service. Tom was a lifetime member of the Chester VFW and the Chester American Legion. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, horseback riding, and spending time outdoors. Tom loved spending time with his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his wife of over 27 years, Jackie Pierce of Chester, IL; one bonus daughter, Shelly (John) Adams of Millstadt, IL; three grandchildren, Molly (Jon) Schuette, Macy (special friend Michael Hanegan) Adams, and Marshall Adams all of Millstadt, IL; one great grandson, Everett James Schuette of Millstadt, IL; one brother Robert (Cindy) Pierce of Chester, IL; one brother in law, Michael (Nancy Ashley) Coulson of Coulterville, IL; two sisters in law, Sue Coulson of Coulterville, IL, and Melissa (Robert) Jarrett of Coulterville, IL; two special caregivers, Kayla Livley, and Joanna Livley; his beloved pets, Charlie and Sissy; and several nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers in law; two dogs, Rooney and Bebe.
Graveside services will be private.
Memorial donations may be made to the Randolph County Humane Society or to the American Parkinson Disease Association (APDA).
