William T. "Bill" Gill's Obituary
William T. "Bill" Gill, age 79, of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away on Friday, July 21, 2023 at 9:37 a.m. in Pinckneyville Community Hospital, Pinckneyville, IL.
Bill was born on May 17, 1944, in Pinckneyville, IL a son to Thomas and Helen (Kellerman) Gill. On October 18, 1965, he married Loretta Konkel in DuBois, IL, and she preceded him in death on December 29, 2021. He worked 32 years at Farm Service as a fuel supplier. He was a member at St. Bruno Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus both in Pinckneyville, IL. Bill loved woodworking and spending time with his kids and grandkids. He never knew a stranger and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his son, William D. (Ruth) Gill of Carlinville, IL; one daughter, Darla (Bill) Luke of Pinckneyville, IL; one brother, Robert Gill of Ashley, IL; six grandchildren, Nolan Luke (fiancée, Ellie Carlson) of Pinckneyville, IL; Jayci Luke of Pinckneyville, IL, Kyle Luke of Pinckneyville, IL; Andrew Gill of Carlinville, IL; Trenton Gill, of Carlinville, IL; and Erika Gill of Carlinville, IL; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Loretta; one brother, Ray Gill; and two sisters, Alice Ward and Mary Smugala.
Visitation will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL on Monday, July 24, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
A private graveside service will be held at a later date with burial at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Cemetery, Todds Mill, IL.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association or St. Bruno Catholic School.
