William Marshall Ralston's Obituary
William Marshall Ralston, age 48, of Dowell, passed away on Saturday, June 9, 2007 at 5:20 a.m. in his home. William was born on July 9, 1958 in Crestview, FL, a son to Ray Alvin and Emma (Morgan) Ralston. He was a veteran of the United States Army from 1979 till 1983 serving in Germany. In 1983, he married Donna M. Derrick in Houston, TX and they had three children. He was a letter pressman supervisor at Houston Chronicle Newspaper for 18 ½ years and at Denver Chronicle Newspaper for 6 years. He was of the Christian faith, an avid reader, and enjoyed family, cooking and fishing. Survivors include his mother: Emma Darlene Ralston of Dowell, one son: Nicholas Ray Ralston, and two daughters: Hope Marie Ralston and Emma Rose Ralston, all of Spring, TX, two brothers: James Alvin Ralston and wife Pat of DuQuoin, and David Wayne Ralston and wife Margaret of Herrin, two sisters: Cynthia Darlene Ralston-Galliher and husband David of DuQuoin, Brenda Joyce Shank and husband Paul of DuQuoin, two nephews: James Edward Stewart, and Michael Wayne Stewart, five nieces: Amanda Darlene Price, Audreya G. Price, Amber C. Price and friend Walter, Michelle Darlene Stanley and husband Charlie, and Jennie Marie Martin, and seven great-nieces and great-nephews: Tehya Darlene Rupe, Alexandria Theresa Hutchings, Victoria Ray Stanley, Haylie Nicole Stanley, Jeffrey Mike Martin, Jr., Joshua Matthew Martin, and James Marshall Martin. He was preceded in death by his father. As per his wishes, William was cremated and a private family memorial service will be held at a later date. Pyatt-Harrawood Funeral Home, DuQuoin is in charge of arrangements.
