William R. Gladson's Obituary
William R. "Bill" Gladson, age 86, of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away on Monday, November 24, 2008 at 2:45 p.m. in Friendship Manor Nursing Home, Nashville, IL. surrounded by his loving family. William "Bill" was born on September 22, 1922 in Pinckneyville, IL, a son to William Eugene and Jenny L. (Craig) Gladson. He married Patricia Ann Dillow on March 6, 1949 in Pinckneyville, IL and she survives. Bill was a longtime, active member of Pinckneyville First United Methodist Church, worked for 40 years as a union meat cutter for numerous grocery stores in Pinckneyville, finally retiring from Perry County IGA, and was a veteran of the United States Army, having served his country honorably. Bill was an avid hunter, fisherman, and sportsman, who also loved bowling and playing cards with his friends. Bill is survived by his wife: Patricia Gladson of Pinckneyville, IL, two sons: James W. (Jeannie) Gladson and Carl D. (Teddi) Gladson, all of Pinckneyville, IL, one daughter: Karen (Leonard) Heisner of Pinckneyville, IL, grandchildren: Angela and Tom Webb, William N, and Patrick W. Gladson all of Murphysboro, IL, Dr.'s Seth and Menaka Gladson of Chesterfield, MO, Autumn Gladson of St. Louis, MO, Hillary A. Heisner of High Ridge, MO, L.J. and Nicole Heisner of Pinckneyville, IL and Airman First Class Joshua Heisner of Aviano, Italy and his fiancée: Holly Johnston of Pinckneyville, IL, two brothers: Frank "Pud" (Phyllis) Gladson of Mtn. Home, AR and Charles (Margaret) Gladson of Pinckneyville, IL, two sisters: Sarah (James E.) Williams of New Albany, IN and Ruth (Gene) Winthrop of Elkville, IL, one great-grandson: Nolan Dev Gladson, and many dear nieces and nephews. He was preceded by his parents, one brother: Craig Gladson, one sister: Norma VanZandt and one granddaughter: Fawn Renee Gladson. Funeral services will be held at the First United Methodist Church, Pinckneyville, IL on Saturday, November 29, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. with Reverend Jim Barnett officiating. Interment will be in Mueller Hill Cemetery, Pinckneyville, IL. Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL on Friday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday at the church from 8:30 a.m. until 10:30. Memorials may be made to Pinckneyville Skilled Care Auxiliary, Pinckneyville, IL or Friendship Manor Nursing Home, Nashville, IL.
