William K. "Bill" Kopshever's Obituary
William K. "Bill" Kopshever, age 68, of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at 5:15 p.m. in Memorial Hospital of Carbondale, Carbondale, IL. Bill was born on December 4, 1946 in Dubuque, IA, a son to Edward D. and Dorothy J. (Kelly) Kopshever. On October 10, 1970, he married Mary L. Smith in St. Bruno Catholic Church, Pinckneyville, IL and she survives. Bill was a proud veteran of the United States Navy and was a member of St. Bruno Catholic Church, Pinckneyville, IL. He was a prep plant supervisor for 27 years, working for Consolidation Coal and Arch Minerals Captain Mine. He was also a production supervisor for John Deere and a production manager for Universal Tower. Bill enjoyed golfing, fishing, loved cooking and spending time with his family and friends. Survivors include his wife, Mary Kopshever of Pinckneyville, IL; two daughters, Kathy Kopshever of Pinckneyville, IL and Jean (Matt) Hagston of Pinckneyville, IL; one son, Andy (Melissa) Kopshever of Newburgh, IN; four grandchildren, Jacob, Austin, and Holly Hagston and Ashton Kopshever; four brothers, Edward (Beth) Kopshever, Jr. of McMurray, PA, Michael (Dawn) Kopshever, Sr. of Newburgh, IN; Thomas Kopshever of Newburgh, IN and David (Judy) Kopshever of Pinckneyville, IL; numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be held at St. Bruno Catholic Church, Pinckneyville, IL on Thursday, January 22, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. with Father Augustine Ibezimako officiating. Interment will be in St. Bruno Catholic Cemetery, Pinckneyville, IL. Graveside military service will be provided by Presswood-Daffron American Legion Post #2504, Pinckneyville, IL. Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL on Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again on Thursday from 8:00 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Lung Association.
