William Henry Schwarz's Obituary
William Henry Schwarz, age 82, of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away at 1:30 a.m., on Tuesday, July 9, 2024 in Pinckneyville Community Hospital.
William was born on May 29, 1942 at home in Pinckneyville, IL, a son to Louis G. and Emily C. (Mayer) Schwarz. On April 25, 1964, he married Shirley Jones in DuQuoin, IL and she survives. William worked as a truck driver for Keene Road Builders for 17 years while also working his farm. He farmed all of his life. William was a member of the Winkle Baptist Church for 60 years and had served as trustee for the church for several years. He was also a member of the Lost Prairie Cemetery Board, ASC Farm Service Agency Board, and the Teamsters Union. William collected antique Oliver tractors that he showed at the Threshermans. His greatest passion in life was taking care of his family and spending time with his loved ones.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Shirley Schwarz of Pinckneyville, IL; a son, Donnie (Joan) Toler of DuQuoin, IL; two daughters, Cheryl (Tom) Keith of Pinckneyville, IL, and Michelle (Craig) Tiburzi of Carlinville, IL; two sisters, Leona Hagene of Belleville, IL and Velma (Bud) Jones of Pinckneyville, IL; eleven grandchildren, Julie Watson, William (Corrie) Toler, Carol Smith, Jenna Toler, Emily (Jordan) Evans, Madelyn (Kendall) Gibson, Christy Toler, Sophia (Myles) Foor, Phoebe (Mathias) Keith, Ayden Tiburzi, and Isabella Tiburzi; eleven great-grandchildren, Brayden Watson, Braylee Watson, Raelyn Hinton, Henry Toler, Olivia Toler, Aubrey Watson, Cosby Toler, Ariella Stanhouse, Mila Evans, Everleigh Purdy, and Blakely Gibson; his special friend who helped him on the farm for many years, John Baumann of Pinckneyville, IL; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Jeff Toler; brother, Ervin C. Schwarz; two sisters, Alma Lee and Norma Niemeyer; and two nephews, Allen Niemeyer and Rick Schwarz.
Funeral services will be held at Winkle Baptist Church, Coulterville, IL on Friday, July 12, 2024 at 12:00 p.m., with Brother Jeff Downard officiating. Interment will be at Mueller Hill Cemetery, Pinckneyville, IL.
Visitation will be at Winkle Baptist Church, Coulterville, IL on Friday, from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.
