William F. "Bill" Frederking's Obituary
William F. "Bill" Frederking, age 96, of Coulterville, IL, passed away on Thursday, November 18, 2010 in Sparta Community Hospital, Sparta, IL. Bill was born on August 12, 1914 in the Oakdale Area of Washington County, IL, a son to Frederick A. G. and Anna Elizabeth (Johannes) Frederking. On July 16, 1938, he married Lillian Mae Offerman in Perryville, MO and she preceded him in death on May 7, 1999. Bill was a member of the First Baptist Church, Coulterville, IL, retired from Iron Workers Local 392, East St. Louis, IL after 40 years and was a farmer. He was a lifetime member of Sparta Masonic Lodge #162, Scottish Rites Consistory, and an Ambassador of Shriner Ainad Temple. Bill served as a board member of the Western Egyptian Economic Council in Steeleville, IL, and was a member of the Randolph County Pierre Menard Club. Bill was a lifetime member of the Coulterville Lion's Club. Bill also served as Vice President of the Randolph County Democrat Organization and was Precinct Committeeman for 35 years in Perry County and for 25 years in Randolph County. He served as a board member for the Village of Coulterville. In 1979, he was Horseman of the Year (Illinois Horseshow and Racing Association). He was inducted into the Horseman Hall of Fame World Championship Flag Race (Mt. Vernon, IL in 1980). In 1986, he was the Outstanding Citizen of Coulterville. Bill was a lifelong member of the Sparta Saddle and Bridle Club and the American Quarter Horse Association. Bill is survived by two sons, Frederick (Brenda) Frederking and Clyde Frederking; two daughters, Anna Marie (Charles) Sheeler and Linda (Richard) Wooten all of Coulterville, IL; seven grandchildren, Frederick Frederking, Jr. of Steeleville, IL, Cletus (Lauretta) Frederking of Portland, OR, Daryl (Kacey) Frederking of Coulterville, IL, Melanie Frederking of Coulterville, IL, Susie (George) Phillips of Mt. Vernon, IL, Mary Beth Phelps of Coulterville, IL, and Rich Wooten (Julie Follman) of St. Louis, MO; fifteen great-grandchildren, Jennifer, Will, and Reid Frederking, Amelia and Nathanael Frederking, Lucas, William (Drew) and Ellie Frederking, Bryce Williams, Maggee and Katie Phelps, Jeremy (Lindsay) Mueller, Tracy Pflasterer, Brooke Guetersloh, and Ray Williams, Jr. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lillian; one daughter, Gloria Dee( born in 1946 and died in infancy); two brothers; Paul and Harold Frederking; one grandson, Jeff Scott Frederking; one granddaughter, Kristin Wooten; and one great-grandson, Dalton Levi Frederking (died in infancy). Funeral services will be held at the First Baptist Church, Coulterville, IL on Monday, November 22, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. with Reverend Kenneth Robinson and Reverend Clifton Lingle officiating. Interment will be in Coulterville City Cemetery, Coulterville, IL. Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home, Coulterville, IL on Sunday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Monday at the church from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. Masonic Rites will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to Shriners Childrens Hospital or VNA/TIP Hospice.
