William "Bill" E. Timpner's Obituary
William E. "Bill" Timpner, age 87, of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away on Thursday, July 21, 2016 at 11:48 p.m. in St. Francis Medical Center, Cape Girardeau, MO. Bill was born on December 23, 1928 in Pinckneyville, IL, a son to William B. and Laura Ann (Frederking) Timpner. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army serving in the Korean War. On October 9, 1954, he married Helen VanVoorhis at St. Paul Church, Pinckneyville IL and she survives. Bill had worked as a farmer and as a coal miner at Consol #2, DuQuoin, IL. He was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Pinckneyville, IL, the Masons, Perry County Historical Society, American Thresherman Association, Perry County Jail Museum, Soil and Water Board, Pinckneyville Grade School District 50 Board, and Perry County Farm Bureau. He enjoyed antiquing, toy trains, coins, Indian artifacts, stamps, loved history and was a man of great knowledge. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Helen Timpner of Pinckneyville, IL; a son, Bill (Nancy) Timpner of Pinckneyville, IL; two daughters, Donna (David) Vuichard of Pinckneyville, IL and Tracey (Tim) Laird of Pinckneyville, IL; three sisters, Betty Ann (Dean) Hammann of Chesterfield, MO, E. Lavonne Bathon of Pinckneyville, IL and D. Elaine (Sam) Vancil of Sunfield, IL; six grandchildren, Michelle (Rob) Ferrari, Tiffany Stoffel, Shelby Laird, P.F.C. Travis T. Laird, Mallory Timpner (fiancé, Ben Harris) and Will Timpner; four great-grandchildren, Lane and Lexi Ferrari and Joey and Piper Stoffel; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother-in-law, Albert Bathon. Funeral services will be held at St. Paul United Church of Christ, Pinckneyville, IL on Monday, July 25, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Cindy Bean officiating. Interment will be in Mueller Hill Cemetery, Pinckneyville, IL. Military graveside rites by Presswood-Daffron American Legion Post #2504. Friends may call at St. Paul United Church of Christ, Pinckneyville, IL on Sunday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Monday at the church from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Perry County Jail Museum. Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL is in charge of arrangements.
