William "Bill" H. Jones' Obituary
William H. "Bill" Jones, age 79, of Coulterville, IL, passed away on Wednesday, July 4, 2012 at 5:15 p.m. at Washington County Hospital in Nashville, IL.. Bill was born on February 21, 1933 in Coulterville, IL, a son to George "Bruce" and Edna (Rice) Jones. He married Linda L. Hood on November 3, 1957 in Holly Springs, MS and she survives. Bill served in the Navy during the Korean Conflict. He worked as a coal miner for Peabody Coal for 37 years. He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Coulterville, IL, the Coulterville V.F.W. Post 6865, the Masons Hope Lodge of Sparta, IL, the Scottish Rite, and the Shriner Ainad Temple. Bill enjoyed playing golf, working in his yard, reading, and grilling. He loved caring for his family especially his granddaughters. Survivors include his wife of 54 years; daughters, Rhonda Jones (Brian Belcher) of Coulterville, IL, and Kristi Ehlers (Brian) of Ava, IL; granddaughters, Meghan Jones of Austin, TX and Bria Ehlers of Ava, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents and four sisters, Leah, Joan, Marilyn, and Leola Ann. Funeral services will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, Coulterville, IL on Sunday, July 8, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor John Hackman officiating. Interment will be in Coulterville City Cemetery, Coulterville, IL. Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home on Saturday, 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Sunday, 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Shriner's Hosptial for Children.
