William "Bill" Cole's Obituary
William "Bill" Cole, age 57, of Willisville, IL, passed away on Wednesday, September 6, 2023 at 4:24 p.m. in Barnes Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, MO.
Bill was born on October 16, 1965 in Sparta, IL, a son to William "Sonny" and Delores (Glenn) Cole. He worked over thirty-five years as a supervisor for Gilster-Mary Lee. Bill enjoyed playing cards for hours. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals baseball and Dallas Cowboys football fan who enjoyed all sports. Bill loved spending time with his family, especially with his children and grandson. He delighted in his trips to Holiday World and family get togethers. Bill will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his three daughters, Kristin Stark of Ooltewah, TN, Sara Cole of Murphysboro, IL, and Hannah Cole of Murphysboro, IL; one brother, Frank (Meloney) Cole of Tilden, IL; three sisters, Deborah (Leonard) Kempfer of Coulterville, IL, Laura Robin Stone of Apache Junction, AZ, and Edna (Rich) Hammond of Percy, IL; one grandson, Lawson Wayne of Murphysboro, IL; five nephews, Clinton Kempfer of Marissa, IL, Adam Kempfer of Coulterville, IL, Travis Engelage of Sparta, IL, and Shannon Stone of Apache Junction, AZ; four nieces, Charity Tippen of Cabool, MO, Kerri Stroud of Elkville, IL, Tiffany Cole of Tilden, IL and Tabitha Cole of Sparta, IL; and several great nieces, great nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Ronald Lee Cole and Christopher W. Cole; one sister, Beverly Ann Cole; one brother-in-law, Jack Stone; and one sister-in-law, Delores "Dee" Cole.
A graveside funeral service will be held at Coulterville City Cemetery, Coulterville, IL, on Saturday, September 16, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. with Ron Mazander officiating. Interment will follow.
A celebration of life will be held on October 14, 2023 at the Pour House Bar and Grill at 2:00 p.m., 754 State Route 13, Marissa, IL.
Memorial donations may be made to his grandson's college fund the Lawson Scholarship Fund.
