Willaert Dean Klingenberg's Obituary
Willaert Dean Klingenberg age 83, of Pinckneyville, IL passed away on February 18, 2010, at San Diego Hospice, San Diego, CA. Mr. Klingenberg was born in Pinckneyville, IL on December 14, 1926, a son of Oliver H. and Anna J. (Guenther) Klingenberg. On October 6, 1951, he married Virginia Lee Ritter of Pinckneyville, IL and to this union was born one son. She preceded him in death on July 26, 1989. He was later united in marriage with Helen Louise McElhattan of Tamaroa IL and she preceded him in death on March 6, 2009. He was a member of The First United Methodist Church, Pinckneyville, IL and the United Mine Workers of America. He also held several management positions with Consolidation Coal Company from 1972 until his retirement in 1985. He was a veteran of the United States Navy during World War II. He had many hobbies, but particularly enjoyed fishing. He is survived by: one son, Paul Klingenberg of San Diego, CA; one son -in -law, Tony Stratton of San Diego, CA; two step daughter s, Pam Dilts of Eveleth, MN and Earnestine Broyles of Lakeway, TX; one step son, Bruce Broyles of Plano, TX; two sisters, Marcella Hall of Centralia, IL and Norma Dunn of Pinckneyville, IL; one brother, Robert Klingenberg of Macon, MO and one granddaughter Lacy Dilts of Laramie, WY. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters: Arlene Neer, Lucille Hill and Shirley McCrary; two brothers in infancy and one granddaughter Stephanie Broyles. Funeral services will be held at the Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL, on Monday, March 1, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Jim Barnett officiating. Interment will be in the Mueller Hill Cemetery, Pinckneyville, IL. Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association. The family would like to thank the staff of Gate Manor, Poway, CA for providing such great care during the last year of his life.
