Wilbur Kent Engelhardt 72 of Pinckneyville Illinois passed away peacefully on February 4, 2025, at home with his wife by his side. Wilbur, a twin, was born in Du Quoin IL to Erla Trefftzs Engelhardt on April 5, 1952 in Du Quoin I Read Obituary
I met Wilbur at the Dixie Cup years ago. He was a friend of my son, Jay, when Jay was hanging out with Evan, and Irl was taking them to the farm in Pinkneyville years ago. He was a good guy. His was a life well lived. Condolences to his family and friends.
The photo captures the smile on Wilbur's face, which was always present, as well as in his heart.
Wilbur often helped whoever needed help and sought ways to be kind to folks.
Wilbur really loved the outdoors and generously shared his knowledge of it.
As children, we'd play Handy Over (Annie Over) at our grandparents, Fred & Mary Engelhardt's house. Wonderful memories.

Wilbur always smiled and made you feel like a friend. He helped us when we bought our farm and we remember his eyes lighting up as we discussed where we should build our lake. He was a special man with a big heart. We feel privileged to have known him.
Lib, I think of all of the fun we had in childhood. It must be especially hard to lose a twin. Susan and Irl, so sorry for your loss!
