Wanda Silbe's Obituary
Wanda Silbe, age 90, of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away on Thursday, March 21, 2019 at 6:47 a.m. in Pinckneyville Community Hospital, Pinckneyville, IL.
Wanda was born on April 4, 1928 in Perry County, IL, a daughter to Richard and Nora Ann (Rice) Hutchings. On November 27, 1945, she married Marty Silbe in Kansas City, MO and he survives. She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, IL and many years ago, she served on the kitchen committee at Beaucoup Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, IL. Wanda had worked at Decca Records, P.N. Hirsch and as a cook at Pinckneyville Jr. High School cafeteria. She was often doing things for others and she loved her family dearly. Wanda's greatest joy was her grandchildren and spending time with them.
Survivors include her husband of 73 years, Marty Silbe of Pinckneyville, IL; her daughter, Marla Silbe of Pinckneyville, IL; her son, Terry (Geniese) Silbe of Pinckneyville, IL; four grandchildren, Brooke Lueker of Tamaroa, IL, Paige Leonard of Pittsburg, IL, Jessica (Clint) Pyatt of Pinckneyville, IL and Dirk (Jenny) Silbe of Pinckneyville, IL; eleven great-grandchildren, Laine, Kassidy, Jase, Jett, Justice, Jesse, Jade, Shea, Miner, Zane and Jax; one great-great-granddaughter, Alayna; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, Bill, Pete, Nelson, Donald and Marion; five sisters, Opal, Jesse, Allene, Annabelle and an infant sister; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at Oak Grove Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, IL on Saturday, March 23, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. with Brother Rob Mathis officiating. Interment will be in Mueller Hill Cemetery, Pinckneyville, IL.
Visitation will be at Oak Grove Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, IL on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
Memorial donations may be made to the Oak Grove Baptist Church Building Fund.
