Wanda Lynn Camp's Obituary
Wanda Lynn Camp was born on April 5, 1959 to Rev. William and Nan Hancock in Biloxi, MS. She married Jon Mark Camp in 1977. They had three children together; Michael, Jenifer and Benjamin. She left to join the heavenly family on October 8, 2020.
She was preceded in death by her father, William Hancock; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Howard and Elizabeth Camp; and son, Michael Shane Camp.
Wanda is survived by her husband, Jon Mark Camp; daughter, Jenifer (Jeremy) Clark; son, Jon Benjamin (Duree) Camp; mother, Nan Hancock; brother, Ricky (Sonny) Hancock; sister, Pam Stallings; sister-in-law, MaryAnn (Jerry) Cotham; grandchildren, Jacob Clark, Jonas Clark, Jon Luke Camp and Joshua Camp; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Wanda was the first woman trainmaster in Tennessee. During the 18years, she worked with various railroads and was transferred to Ohio, Indiana and Illinois. Wanda was also trained by the Missouri State Troopers in Jefferson City as railroad police and she was a second-degree blackbelt in Tae Kwon Do. She began working at Pinckneyville Community High School in 1994. It was there where she found a place she could shine and make a difference one child at a time. No matter who it was, if a child was in need, Wanda was there for them. Wanda used her membership at Concord Baptist Church to help children in a more permanent way. Whether it was as Vacation Bible School director, Sunday school teacher, the children's ministry, driving the church van or the puppet ministry, Wanda wanted to make sure every child knew about her Lord and Savior. Wanda also served her church as director of Women's Missionary Union, assistant treasurer and on the cemetery committee. Above all else, Wanda was a warrior for Christ and a child of the King. She always wanted people to know that God loves them and that in all situations "God's got this!!"
