Virginia C. Vancil's Obituary
Virginia C. Vancil, age 79, of Coulterville, IL, passed away on Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at 10:15 a.m. in Coulterville Care Center, Coulterville, IL. Virginia was born on January 13, 1934 in Coulterville, IL, a daughter to Anton and Mary (Albrecht) Lehr. She married Wayne Vancil and he preceded her in death. Virginia was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Coulterville, IL and a special education teacher in Utica, NY, retiring after 30 years. She was a member of the Friends of the Coulterville Public Library and was instrumental in putting together the Coulterville cookbook. Virginia was a kind, giving person and will be dearly missed. Survivors include one brother, Sherman (Kathy) Lehr of Oakdale, IL; two sisters, Barbara (Harry) Deffley of Gaithersburg, MD and Marilyn (Philip) Falk of Dechard, TN; two sisters-in-law, Marie Lehr and Carla Lehr of Coulterville, IL; numerous nieces and nephews and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and four brothers, John Lehr, Joseph Lehr, Samuel Lehr and Howard Lehr. Virginia's wishes were to be cremated. A memorial service will be held at the First United Methodist Church, Coulterville, IL on Saturday, April 6, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor John Hackman officiating. Memorial donations may be made to the Coulterville First United Methodist Church or Coulterville Public Library
