Virginia Urwin's Obituary
Virginia L. Urwin, age 92, of St. Louis, MO passed away on Saturday, August 6, 2022 at 8:15 a.m., in Scenic Nursing and Rehab Center, Herculaneum, MO.
Virginia was born on July 25, 1930 in Pinckneyville, IL, a daughter to Chesley and Bertha (Kellerman) Woodside. She married Robert Urwin and he preceded her in death. Virginia was a telephone operator for Southwestern Bell and retired after 40 years. She was of the Baptist faith, loved being on her own schedule, and her independence but greatly enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her son, Bob (Karen) Urwin of Festus, MO; a daughter, Diana Urwin of St. Louis County, MO; four grandchildren, Samantha (Joshua) Moore, Robert "Bobby" (Megan) Urwin, Bryan (Lindsey) Urwin and Amanda Urwin; six great-grandchildren, Elijaha Moore, Noah Moore, Ezra Moore, Clark Urwin, Elenore Urwin, and Fiona Urwin; and two sisters, Judy Stahlheber of Sparta, IL, and Betty (Steve) Brocco of Caseyville, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a granddaughter, Stephanie Metcalf; three sisters, Ann Little, Cora Smith and Audrey (Woodside) Gilchrist; three brothers, Wilbur Woodside, Eugene Woodside, and Wayne Woodside.
Graveside services will be held at Swanwick Bethel Cemetery, Swanwick, IL on Wednesday, August 10, 2022 at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor Eddie Paul Oats officiating.
Memorial donations may be made to Billy Graham Foundation.
