Virginia F. Coulter's Obituary
Virginia F. Coulter, age 87, of Oakdale, IL passed away on Friday, May 26, 2006 at 12:50 p.m. in Friendship Manor, Nashville, IL. Virginia was born on December 5, 1918 in Oakdale, IL, a daughter to James and Margaret (McConnell) McClay. She married William Stanley Coulter on January 1, 1937 in Oakdale and he preceded her in death on August 30, 1993. She was the assistant cashier at Oakdale State Bank from 1948 - 1985. She was a member of Oakdale United Presbyterian Church, charter member of Oakdale Home Bureau, Grand Marshall with her husband of the 1987 Oakdale Homecoming, and enjoyed spending time at Oakdale Country Kitchen, playing pinochle, and attending softball games. Survivors include one son: Marvin Stanley and Karen Coulter of Herrin, two daughters: Kay and Harold Brammeier of Oakdale, and Sharon and Jerry Chapman of Pinckneyville, one brother: Wilmer "Mick" and Kathy McClay of Tinley Park, IL, eleven grandchildren: Dennis Brammeier, Brenda and Roger Stieg, Carl and Pamela Brammeier, Jeff and Debbie Chapman, Rod and Cindy Chapman, Traci and Steve Napier, Heather Chapman, Ryan Coulter, Megan and Sherman Bynum, Wendy and Stu Ridings, and Derrick Basler, and twenty great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, six sisters, one brother, and one great-grandson: Carl Brammeier, Jr. Funeral services will be held at the Oakdale United Presbyterian Church in Oakdale, IL on Monday, May 29, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. John Campbell officiating. Interment will be in the Oakdale Cemetery. Friends may call at Pyatt-Harrawood Funeral Home in Oakdale, IL on Sunday starting at 5:00 p.m. and then at the Oakdale United Presbyterian Church on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services. Memorial donations may be made to the Oakdale United Presbyterian Church or to the donor's choice.
