Virginia Batson's Obituary
Virginia Batson, age 79, of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away on Sunday, December 8, 2019 at 12:05 p.m. in her home.
Virginia was born on July 26, 1940 in Morrill, KS, a daughter to Virgil and Louise (Parcels) Cook. On July 20, 1968, she married William Lee Roy "Bill" Batson at Holts Prairie Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, IL and he survives. She had worked as the owner/operator and hairdresser at American Hair Design, Pinckneyville, IL. Her and her husband were the owners/operators of Main Street Video, Pinckneyville, IL. Virginia enjoyed playing cards, being outside and planting flowers but her greatest joy was spending time with her family.
Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Bill Batson of Pinckneyville, IL; two sons, Adrian (Beth) Guerrero of Massachusetts and Henry Guerrero of Pinckneyville, IL; a daughter, Jada Batson of Pinckneyville, IL; three grandchildren, Laci Harper (Drew Vandiver), Anthony Guerrero and Adam Guerrero; four great-grandchildren, Hailey and Olivia Vandiver, Dante Guerrero and Sequoia Guerrero; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters, Norma Massey, Wanda Christopher, Glenda Allen and Colleen Rennison; and a brother, Eugene "Gene" Cook.
Funeral services will be held at Holts Prairie Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, IL on Friday, December 13, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. with Brother Collin Hirsch officiating. Interment will be in Holts Prairie Baptist Cemetery, Pinckneyville, IL.
Visitation will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL on Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Friday at Holts Prairie Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, IL from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m.
Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
