Virgil William Jausel's Obituary
Virgil William Jausel age 74 of Pinckneyville, IL passed away on Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at 4:35 a.m. in St. Louis University Hospital, St. Louis, MO. Virgil was born on May 14, 1935 in Swanwick, IL, a son to William and Opal (Tanner) Jausel. On April 13, 1954, he married Betty Lacy in Corinth, MS and she survives. Virgil was a master electrician, worked at Captain Mine for over 25 years and was owner and operator of Jausel T.V. Repair Sales and Service. He was instrumental in the formation of the Pinckneyville Volunteer Ambulance Service, Pinckneyville Volunteer Fireman for 20 years; he served the City of Pinckneyville as Police Chief and Policeman for 8 years, charter member of Moose Lodge #930, serving as administrator for 4 years, and a member of Eagles, Pinckneyville, IL. Virgil enjoyed building electric cars and spending time with his family Virgil is survived by his wife, Betty Jausel of Pinckneyville, IL, a daughter, Anita (Rod) Starkweather of Pinckneyville, IL, a son, Vernon (Maryann) Jausel of Pinckneyville, IL, two brothers, Russell (Peggy) Jausel of Olney, IL, Ervin (Teresa) Jausel of McQuon, IL; one granddaughter, Dana (Jim ) Buschschulte of Pinckneyville, IL, one great-granddaughter, Kelly Buschschulte, three step-grandchildren, Staci Starkweather of Champaign, IL, Sean (Tracy) Starkweather of Pinckneyville, IL and Dale McClurken of Pinckneyville, IL; four step great-grandchildren, two step great-great grandchildren and many dear nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and a great-grandson, Matthew Buschschulte. Funeral services will be held at Winkle Baptist Church, Winkle, IL on Saturday, February 6, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. with Brother Jeff Downard officiating. Interment will be in Mueller Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL on Friday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and then at the church on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Memorials may be made to Winkle Baptist Church.
