Viola Arnold's Obituary
Viola Arnold, age 98, of Swanwick, IL, passed away on Monday, August 19, 2013 at 10:32 p.m. in Pinckneyville Community Hospital, Pinckneyville, IL. Viola was born on July 30, 1915 in Mississippi County, AR, a daughter to Robert A. and Hattie Peters. On October 26, 1932, she married William Arnold in Huffman, AR and he preceded her in death after 56 years of marriage on February 8, 1989. She was a homemaker and had also worked as a sales clerk at Walker's 5 & 10, Pinckneyville, IL. Viola was a member of Beaucoup Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, IL and enjoyed sewing and her home. Survivors include her daughter, Helen (Louis) Pittman of Coulterville, IL; a granddaughter, Sharon Kay (Roger) Davis of O'Fallon, IL; two great-grandchildren, Laura René (Neal) Gramenz of Steeleville, IL and Curtis Brandon Burnett of St. Louis, MO; two great-great-granddaughters, Amber Nicole Gramenz and Ashli Christine Gramenz; a half-brother, Ray Peters of Paragould, AR and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three brothers, George Peters, Raleigh Peters and Cecil Peters; and three sisters, Alberta Woodhouse, Virgie Bacaloni and Francis Lewallen. Funeral services will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, Coulterville, IL on Thursday, August 22, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. with Brother Tim McIntyre officiating. Interment will be in Mueller Hill Cemetery, Pinckneyville, IL. Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home, Coulterville, IL on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
