Vie Anna Monaghan's Obituary
Vie Anna Monaghan, age 68, of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away on April 2, 2021 at 8:02 p.m. in Pinckneyville Community Hospital, Pinckneyville, IL.
Vie was born on September 7, 1952 in Greenville, KY, a daughter to Bill Marlin and Sylvia Blake. In 1972, she married Patrick E. Monaghan in Richmond, IN. They divorced in 1992 but still took care of each other. Vie was of the Baptist faith. She was an outstanding artist who loved oil painting and using chalk. Vie was an amazing seamstress who could make anything. She was an exceptional cook who was known for her fruit salad and pecan dressing. She would make sure that everyone had enough to eat. She was also a housewife who loved her family. She helped raise her brothers and sisters and family was important to her. She was a great woman.
Survivors include her two sons, Christopher Dalton Monaghan of Cadiz, KY and William J. Monaghan of Pinckneyville, IL; one daughter, Lisa Fay Stevenson of Belleville, IL; ex-husband, Patrick Monaghan of Pinckneyville, IL; six grandchildren, Robert, Amber, Gabbie, Damion, Carrie and Chase; four great-grandchildren, Madison, JoMaye, Azela and Christopher; three brothers, Rolley Blake, Totsie Blake, and David Blake all of Elkton, KY; four sisters, Mary Mirza of Tennessee, Linda Blake of Elkton, KY, Rosie Blake of Buffalo, NY and Glena Scruggs of Auburn, KY; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Joe and Dalton Blake.
Vie's wishes were to be cremated and no services will be held.
