Vernon "Vic" Harry Green, age 84, of Coulterville, IL passed away on Tuesday, July 15, 2008 at 8:04 a.m. in his home.

Vic was born on January 9, 1924 in Coulterville, IL, a son to Hugh Ivory and Eva Cleo (Heinke) Green. He was a veteran of the United States Army/Air Force serving in World War II. On July 12, 1947, he married Ruby I. Pemberton in Eureka, MO and she survives. In his lifetime, he worked highway maintenance for the State of Illinois Highway Department, was the Farm Fresh milk man of Coulterville, was a member of the United Methodist Church, Coulterville, IL, American Legion, Lions Club, and Khoury League. Survivors include his wife: Ruby I. Green of Coulterville, IL, son: Dr. Vernon Gary (Carol) Green of Rolla, MO, daughter: Patricia "Patti" (Tim) Berry of Coulterville, IL, brother: Floyd (Patricia) Green of Coulterville, IL, four sisters: Genavie (Roy) McKinley of Coulterville, IL, Ruth Groth of Freeburg, IL, Opal Johnson of Seattle, WA, and Helen Williams of Carthage, MO, seven grandchildren: Christy Konkel, Michelle Haynes, Cherity Freeze, Catrina Wood, Cortnie Ruppert, Greg Tuggle, and Shannon Berry, and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter: Pamela Sue Tuggle, three brothers: Lawrence Green, Delbert Green, and Ivan Green and sister: Vivian Green. Funeral services will be held at the United Methodist Church, Coulterville, IL on Thursday, July 17, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Eunjoo Lee officiating. Interment will be in Coulterville City Cemetery, Coulterville, IL. Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home, Coulterville, IL on Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., on Thursday at the funeral home from 8:00 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. then at the church from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
