Vernon "Bud" Carns' Obituary
Vernon "Bud" Carns, age 84, of Coulterville, IL, passed away on Tuesday, April 7, 2009 at 10:10 p.m. in Belleville Memorial Hospital, Belleville, IL. Bud was born on July 31, 1924 in Coulterville, IL, a son to Walter and Hattie (Hannah) Carns. He married Edith Henson on July 1, 1950 in Pickett, AR and she preceded him in death on November 6, 2007. Bud was a member of the Coulterville United Methodist Church and a private in the United States Army during World War II. Bud retired as a teamster, working in construction, a member of Local #50 in Belleville, IL, a fifty year member of Hope Lodge 162 in Sparta, IL and Eastern Star Lodge Chapter 411 in Sparta, IL. He is survived by one son: Dale (Kathy) Carns of Coulterville, IL, one granddaughter: Jamie Lynn Carns of Coulterville, IL, one sister: Jaqueline "Jackie" Freund of Johnsberg, IL, two brothers: Ronald (Jean) Carns of Marissa, IL and Kenny (Carolyn) Carns of St. Charles, MO, one sister-in-law: Kay Carns of Pinckneyville, IL and numerous other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and five brothers: Raymond, Tommy, Robert, Wayne and Walton "Pete" Carns. Funeral services will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, Coulterville, IL on Saturday, April 11, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Eunjoo Lee officiating. Interment will be in Coulterville City Cemetery. Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home, Coulterville IL, on Friday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. Masonic Rites on Friday at 7:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the Coulterville United Methodist Church.
