Verga Watts' Obituary
Verga "Vergie" Pauline Watts, age 93, of Pinckneyville, passed away on Wednesday, July 18, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. in Coulterville Care Center. Vergie was born on February 11, 1914 in Pinckneyville, IL, a daughter to Charles and Clara (Loucks) Gregory. On December 15, 1932, she married Reverend Berthel R. Watts in Addieville, IL and he preceded her in death on June 21, 1977. She had worked for over 20 years as a seamstress with the Garment Workers Union in Pinckneyville and was a member of Nine Mile Baptist Church, Tamaroa. Survivors include her son: Charles W. Watts of Tamaroa, IL, brother: Luther James Gregory of Pinckneyville, four grandchildren: Judy Cline, Dana Terhark, Jennifer Haywood, and Bert Watts, and three great-grandchildren: Melanie Cline, Benjamin and Samuel Watts. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter: Dolores Sergent, one brother: Wilbur Gregory, four sisters: Edith Koller, Wilma Thomas, Irene Neville, and LaVerne Oneth, and one sister-in-law: Mildred Gregory. Funeral services will be held at Pyatt-Harrawood Funeral Home, Pinckneyville on Monday, July 23, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Kevin Carrothers officiating. Interment will be in Mueller Hill Cemetery, Pinckneyville. Friends may call at Pyatt-Harrawood Funeral Home, Pinckneyville on Monday from 12:00 p.m. till 1:00 p.m.
