Vera Mae Knight's Obituary
Vera Mae Knight, age 84, of DuQuoin, IL, passed away on Thursday, October 18, 2007 at 4:05 p.m. in her home. Vera was born on December 15, 1922 in Royalton, IL, a daughter to Radford and Hattie (Carnahan) Pedigo. On September 12, 1942, she married Julian Knight in Perryville, MO and he preceded her in death on November 30, 1993. She was a homemaker, a member of First United Penticostal Church of DuQuoin, and loved reading and baking. Survivors include three sons: Russell Knight of DuQuoin, Tom (Melissa) Knight of Valier, and Gerald Knight of Energy, a daughter: Alice (Marvin) Howell of Herrin, a step-son and a step-daughter raised and loved as her own: Julian Knight and Norma Shaw, both of Tamaroa, a sister: Anna Conroy of Royalton, nineteen grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son: Gary Knight, three great-grandchildren, four brothers, and a sister. Funeral services will be held at First United Pentecostal Church of DuQuoin, on Sunday, October 21, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Dan McKinnies and Reverend C.L. McKinnies officiating. Interment will be in I.O.O.F. Cemetery, DuQuoin. Friends may call at First United Pentecostal Church of DuQuoin on Sunday from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to Luke Memorial Hospice or First United Pentecostal Church of DuQuoin.
