Tommy A. Miller's Obituary
Tommy A. Miller, age 69, of Pinckneyville, IL, passed away on Saturday, March 13, 2010 at his home. Tommy was born on July 2, 1940 in Pinckneyville, IL, a son to Ira and Clara (Pulke) Miller. On June 13, 1959, he married Janet Lindner in Demark Baptist Church, Denmark, IL and she survives. Tommy was an Operating Engineer for Local 520, retiring after 40 years. He was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, IL and the American Thresherman Association. Tommy loved antique tractors, was very talented at woodworking and enjoyed working around saw mills. Tommy is survived by his wife; a son, Jack (fiancée: Bridget Shearer) Miller of Pinckneyville, IL; three daughters, Kimberly (Mark) Smith of Campbell Hill, IL, Mary (Jim) Rice and Sherry Shaw all of Pinckneyville, IL; nine grandchildren, Rick (Shari Stratton) Williams, Ethan (Amber) Smith, Brittany Smith, Aimee (Shawn) Brehm, Sarah Shaw, Issac Shaw, Seth Miller, Haley Miller and Sage Evers; five step-grandchildren, Tyler Rice, Nicholas Evers, Nichole Hoffner-Shaw, Mariah Shearer and Gage Shearer; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Carolyn Cook of New York; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Carl Miller and Delmar Miller in infancy; two sisters, Geraldine Philips and Nedra Lacy; and a grandson, Tyler Smith. Funeral services will be held at Oak Grove Baptist Church, Pinckneyville, IL on March 15, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. with Brother Rob Mathis officiating. Interment will be in Mueller Hill Cemetery, Pinckneyville, IL. Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home, Pinckneyville, IL on Sunday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Monday at Oak Grove Baptist Church from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the donor's choice.
