Tom Waller's Obituary
Tom Waller, age 85, of DuQuoin, IL, passed away on Monday, March 18, 2019 at 3:03 p.m. in his home.
Tom was born on December 31, 1933 in Thompsonville, IL, a son to Roman and Hazel (Hall) Waller. He was formerly married to Nancy Hagston and to this union four children were born. He later married Brenda Pittman on April 17, 1993 in DuQuoin, IL and she survives. Tom was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force, was a truck driver for Bione Trucking, Christopher, IL and attended Dowell Baptist Church, Dowell, IL. He enjoyed DuQuoin football games, eating at Quatro's Pizza, raisin pies and mowing grass for himself and others. Tom was an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan.
Survivors include his wife, Brenda Waller of DuQuoin, IL; three sons, Roman D. Waller of DuQuoin, IL, Ricky (Jill) Waller of Belknap, IL and Roger (Donna) Waller of Elkville, IL; one step-son, Robert Christopher Patterson of Ina, IL; two sisters, Martha Dean of DuQuoin, IL and Hilda Preston of DuQuoin, IL; one sister-in-law, Barb Waller of Dexter, KY; nine grandchildren, Jason Waller, Jennifer Weatherford, Stacie Hampson, Amber Timmons, Amanda Wynn, Ricky Waller Jr, Lacy Brookman and Nolan Waller; one step-granddaughter, Lindy Shelby Patterson; ten great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Sherrie Waller; one granddaughter, Shannon Waller; three brothers, Kenneth Waller, James Waller and Billy Waller; and four sisters, Maxine Yancey, Lorene Bernhard, Roma Struck and Mary Kuhnert.
Funeral services will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, DuQuoin, IL on Friday, March 22, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. with Reverend Gary Pate officiating. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Park DuQuoin, IL. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the DuQuoin V.F.W. and American Legion.
Visitation will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, DuQuoin, IL on Friday from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.
In lieu flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Marshall Browning Hospital Tree of Life.
