Thomas Raymond Hood's Obituary
Thomas Raymond "Tom" Hood, age 68, of Coulterville, IL, passed away on Thursday, February 12, 2009 at 5:38 p.m. at his home. Tom was born on March 30, 1940 in Coulterville, IL at the corner of Fifth and Locust, a son to Floyd and Dorothy (Thomas) Hood. From his early teens, he was raised by his mother Dorothy and step-father Frank Rokiski. On August 10, 1963 he married Darlene Malott in Pinckneyville, IL at the First United Presbyterian Church. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and worked for Verizon Telephone Company as a switchman, retiring after 46 years. Tom was a member of the United Methodist Church, Coulterville, IL, I.B.E.W. Local 702, Mississippi Valley Gun Club and was an avid sportsman. He is survived by his wife: Darlene Hood of Coulterville, IL, three sons: Tom (Linda) Hood of Chicago, IL, John Hood and Bill Hood both of Coulterville, IL, two grandchildren: Jacob and Samantha Hood, and one sister: Theresa Stockman of St. Louis, MO. He was preceded in death by his parents and step-father. Funeral services will be at Pyatt Funeral Home, Coulterville, IL on Monday, February 16, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Eunjoo Lee officiating. Interment will be in Coulterville City Cemetery, Coulterville, IL. Friends may call at Pyatt Funeral Home on Sunday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Monday from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. Memorials may be made to the United Methodist Church, Coulterville, IL.
