Thomas Carl Gutjahr's Obituary
Thomas Carl Gutjahr, age 76, of Coulterville, IL, passed away on Wednesday, July 19, 2023 at 2:30 a.m. in Coulterville Rehabilitation & Health Care Center, Coulterville, IL.
Thomas was born on December 23, 1946 in Washington County, IL, a son to Albert and Amanda (Fenner) Gutjahr. On December 31, 1985, he married Kathryn "Kathy" J. Snyder in Willisvillle, IL. She preceded him in death on March 20, 2017. Thomas was a mechanic, who worked for Nobbe Farm Equipment, Steeleville, IL. He was of the Catholic faith. Thomas enjoyed watching crime shows, hunting for squirrels or deer, and butchering what he shot. He loved spending time with his family. Thomas will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his two sons, Brian (Karen) Gutjahr of Marissa, IL, and Jason Gutjahr of Red Bud, IL; a daughter, Lori Ann Beetley of Baldwin, IL; a stepdaughter, Teresa Thies of Red Bud, IL; two brothers, Charles Gutjahr of Coulterville, IL, and Albert (Sharon) Gutjahr of Nashville, IL; two sisters, Catherine Kane of Marissa, IL, and Barbara Jetton of Coulterville, IL; three grandchildren, Tiffany Gutjahr, Brittney Gutjahr, and Ryan Gutjahr; four step-grandchildren, Terrence Reeder, John Reeder, Justin Thies and Kristen Shepard; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Kathy Gutjahr; stepson, Edward Reeder; and three sisters, Iola Gutjahr, Viola Spelman and Judith Robb and brother, Robert Gutjahr.
Funeral services will be held at Pyatt Funeral Home, Coulterville, IL on Friday, July 21, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor James Clardy officiating. Interment will be in the Marissa Cemetery, Marissa, IL.
Visitation will be at Pyatt Funeral Home, Coulterville, IL on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
